What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website asks your browser to save on your device. Websites use them to remember settings, keep people signed in, or record visits for analytics and advertising.

Other technologies can do a similar job, such as browser local storage, tracking pixels and scripts that recognise your device.

Cookies on this site

We do not set any cookies on calculatemytax.uk, and we do not use any similar technologies.

The site has no analytics, adverts, social media widgets or third-party tracking scripts. It loads no fonts or scripts from third parties, and it does not use your browser's local storage.

The calculator and shareable links

The rental income tax calculator runs in your browser and does not use cookies. If you use "Copy shareable link", your figures are written into the web address itself, not saved in a cookie, and you choose who to share that link with.

Our hosting provider

The site is published on GitHub Pages. GitHub may collect technical information, such as IP addresses, in its server logs to deliver and secure the site. Our privacy policy explains this and links to GitHub's own privacy statement.

If this changes

If we ever add analytics or any cookie to the site, we will update this policy and change the date at the top of this page. Where the law requires it, we will ask for your consent before setting anything.
